Radix Sort Hit 5B Key-Value Pairs per Second With Zero Compute Shaders

MichaelMoroz further optimized the Radix Sort used in his VRChat fluid simulation: it now sorts 5 billion key/value pairs per second while using zero compute shaders, making sorting a negligible part of the simulation. He says an infinite unbounded SPH sim is now possible for certain particle setups, and the zero-gravity mode could power fluid-shooting gameplay.
