Dev on the Codex hype: less unreliable than claimed, with marketing on both sides

Responding to skepticism about Codex's rave reviews, D3VAUX argues the tool is less unreliable in consequential use than critics suggest, is fine for everyday tasks, but is still rough around the edges — and that both Codex and Claude Code benefit from world-class marketing on top of real capability.

Roy Shilkrot, who has little Codex experience, presses on whether the praise is mostly marketing rather than product quality.
