"We were drowning in slop long before AI": the case that AI slop is the hero

The author argues that humanity was already producing and happily consuming low-quality content — bad ads, lazy articles, recycled movies, soulless corporate copy — long before AI arrived, and nobody called it a moral failure.

He sees the backlash against "AI slop" as a double standard: AI didn't create the slop problem, it exposed and amplified a pre-existing human appetite for it, so AI slop is arguably "the hero" rather than the villain.
