Shopify's ML team has open-sourced Tangle, a visual ML pipeline editor. It is a platform-agnostic experimentation platform featuring a drag-and-drop interface to build workflows collaboratively, reuse modules, and leverage advanced execution caching to save compute. Additionally, the author shared a practical case: using a self-improving recursive flywheel to train small models for specialized tasks. A finetuned 0.8B model outperformed GPT-5.6-sol xhigh in this specific use case.
