US translator employment stable despite AI, says Princeton professor

Arvind Narayanan noted in his ICML talk that US employment of human translators is "more or less stable, and is projected to remain stable over the next decade." He argued that there is "no ceiling to the amount of things you can translate," countering fears that AI would destroy the profession.
