South Korea to offer free generative AI access to all citizens

South Korea plans to provide its entire population with free access to generative AI services, treating the technology as a public utility. The AI tools will be integrated with government systems for booking medical appointments, apartment hunting, and tax advice. The initiative targets small businesses and parents. About 25% of South Koreans pay for GenAI, compared to 2% of Americans.
