Oberik: Open-source agent backend solves document parsing and multi-tenancy pain points

kahveciderin · reddit · 2026-08-29

The author released Oberik, an open-source agent backend to solve repetitive infrastructure builds. It includes the 80% common needs: document ingestion, chunking, reranking, citations, multi-tenant isolation, permission control, and durable queues. It supports BYOK (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and MCP servers. The system uses JWT to scope frontend permissions, isolates data per project, and provides a Linux microVM for code execution. It is currently free, with docs designed for AI coding tools like Claude Code for easy integration.
