Cedars-Sinai announced the creation of the Center for Autonomous Robotic Surgery, with Dr. Ajhung serving as founding director. His team has spent 15 years using AI to quantify surgeon performance and predict patient outcomes; the new center will extend that work by building surgical robots with autonomous capabilities that work alongside surgeons — augmenting clinical judgment and making surgery safer and more precise. The co-director will be announced in a follow-up post.
