MongoDB has launched a specialized toolkit, Agent Skills and Plugins, designed to equip coding agents with MongoDB-specific instructions and best practices. It integrates directly with Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code.
Key features include:
- Official MongoDB Agent Skills
- MCP and skills packaged as plugins/extensions
- Support for Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code
- MongoDB MCP Server for controlling agent access and actions
The toolkit covers schema design, indexing, query patterns, connection management, and AI retrieval. Developers can also build custom skills based on team-specific conventions.
