NSF's NRP aggregates 70+ university GPUs to offer free AI compute for researchers
tristanbob · x · 2026-08-20
The National Research Platform (NRP), funded by the NSF, pools idle GPUs, petabyte-scale storage, and open-weight models from over 70 educational institutions. It aims to increase server utilization by allowing other non-profit research and education entities to access these resources for free. Users can access hosted LLMs or use JupyterHub for classroom and research workloads.
