VC Thesis: Founders who just AI-ify existing workflows will lose
every · x · 2026-08-20
Sumeet Singh, founder of Worldbuild, argues that AI founders face the same design challenge Uber did: instead of digitizing the taxi dispatcher's desk, Uber asked what becomes possible when everyone has a location-aware phone.
He contends that founders who simply AI-ify existing workflows will fail. The winners will leverage the unique, nuanced properties of models to invent entirely new workflows that were not technically possible before. He calls these "post-skeuomorphic apps." AI is currently at the same inflection point as the early mobile era.
