Compass system aligns social media feeds with user preferences (UIST 2026)

Social media algorithms face a misalignment problem. Simply asking users to explicitly tell algorithms what they want hasn't worked well in practice due to the effort involved and the difficulty of articulation.
A #UIST2026 paper introduces Compass, a system designed to help users continuously reflect on and align their feeds with their evolving preferences.
