SQLBI shows Claude diagnosing and fixing Power BI dashboards via MCP
adnan_hashmi · x · 2026-08-19
SQLBI reviews the state of AI in Power BI: the transformative productivity gains promised in marketing have yet to materialize, but MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers could change that.
In a demo, a single natural-language request in Claude Desktop lets the LLM locate the workspace, find the dashboard, inspect a visual to diagnose an issue, and even catch a column misspelling (Reptitions) in the underlying dataset — then retrieve the file in Power BI Desktop for fixing. Most aspects of Power BI and Fabric can now be controlled via natural language with an MCP server.
