Models beat humans on narrow tasks; data is the new AGI bottleneck
haider1 · x · 2026-08-18
Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 sol already exceed human performance on specific verifiable tasks. This suggests compute + scaling are nearing AGI requirements, shifting the bottleneck to data and training environments. This makes Recursive Self-Improvement (RSI) compelling: models can't discover new architectures yet, but they can help build better synthetic data, environments, and training loops.
