Tesla Cybercab Launches in Austin, But Expect Only ~1,000 Vehicles by December
JOBhakdi · x · 2026-08-18
Tesla's Cybercab launch is officially announced, but @nymbusjp argues Austin won't be flooded with them: the initial fleet will be a few dozen vehicles at most, and with the current ramp doubling roughly every five weeks, only a few thousand should be operating by December — base case around 1,000. Once launch hype fades, the next outcry will be about slow fleet growth. A few years ago the uncertainty was about the outcome; now it's only about timing.
