Starfield Fauna dataset released with 20k images
eccLykta · reddit · 2026-08-16
A new image classification dataset called Starfield Fauna has been released on GitHub, featuring 20,000 images across 50 fauna species from the video game Starfield. The images were extracted from video footage captured across various biomes, including both day and night shots to vary backgrounds. The shots are mostly close-ups and centered to focus on species discernment. Normalization was applied to ensure balanced distribution across training, validation, and test sets.
