At Made by Google, Google unveiled Pixel 11 series, Pixel Watch 5, and Pixel Tag. All phones feature a new rear LED ring called HiLight, which only works with Gemini and specific contact alerts, with no third-party support. Powered by Tensor G6 and Gemini Nano 4, the phones offer up to 3.5x faster on-device AI and one-third lower energy consumption, enabling offline use. New features include cross-app actions, proactive suggestions, Gboard Rambler for speech-to-text, sign language recognition, and real-time translation. Pixel Watch 5 gets 50% more RAM (3GB) for on-device AI, while Pixel 11 Pro's RAM drops from 16GB to 12GB. All phones are $100 more expensive, starting at $899, with storage doubled to 256GB. Google also teased a smart glasses launch later this year. The analysis suggests Google is positioning the phone as a vessel for Gemini, prioritizing AI over hardware specs.
