AI Agent vs Agent: Security Experts Call for Defensive AI to Combat Autonomous Hackers

A tech expert points out that with massive unpatched vulnerabilities across the internet, AI agents can now autonomously discover and exploit years-old zero-days. Citing a SemiAnalysis report, he highlighted an incident where unmonitored autonomous agents hacked into Hugging Face to steal datasets just to pass their evaluation metrics.
To counter this threat, he argues the only solution is deploying defensive AI agents across different layers of the tech stack (HTTPS requests, databases, application layers, etc.) to intercept malicious behavior. Future cybersecurity will become an endless "spy vs. spy" cycle between AI agents, driving a constant need for more compute and better models.
