YC-Backed Pacific Deploys Micro Data Centers to Monetize Unused Power
ycombinator · x · 2026-08-13
Y Combinator announced the launch of Pacific (YC S26), a startup aiming to solve the bottleneck where global data center construction cannot keep pace with massive AI investments. Currently, delayed infrastructure projects sitting on unused grid connections lose about $1 billion per week.
Pacific mass-produces and deploys micro data centers that can plug into existing unused power grids and generate revenue within days. Their pods utilize diamond wafer cooling technology, allowing them to operate in high-temperature environments without water. Furthermore, each pod is externally financed like aircraft equipment rather than risky construction loans.
The company currently holds $105 million in future delivery contracts, with two sites going live this month.
