Pushing back against the trend that 'normal people will build their own apps' via Vibe Coding, developer Kyle Gawley pointed out the absurdity: someone who can't work a printer won't pay $200/mo for Claude, $99/yr for an iOS dev license, $100/yr for API hosting, and take 2 weeks off to learn coding. He argues they would rather just pay $2 for an app that already exists.
