The author argues that while the internet made information cheap and AI is making intelligence cheap, the real bottleneck is now the ability to turn bits into atoms.
For young, technical talent obsessed with building physical things, China's Greater Bay Area offers the highest-density environment globally. Shenzhen leads in electronics and robotics, Dongguan has factories and supply chains, Foshan handles industrial manufacturing, and Guangzhou offers trade and engineering. Within this massive distributed machine, one can go from morning design to afternoon component sourcing, factory talks the next day, and prototyping within the same week.
