Future Software: AI Agents Will Turn Code Into the New 'Kernel'

The author predicts that in the near future, software code will become completely hidden from users, much like server logs or OS kernel code today. Users will rarely need to check what's running under the hood, and when they do, AI agents will inspect it alongside them.
Just as Microsoft used the Windows GUI to cover MS-DOS, all application software will adopt this highly abstracted model. A commenter jokingly added that soon we won't see code at all—just a clean drag-and-drop interface with a nice start button.
