Microsoft VP: AI Will Radically Change Software Engineering, Devs Need Editorial Judgment

Microsoft's Charles Lamanna told Bloomberg that software engineering will look nothing like it has in the past due to AI coding tools.
He emphasized that as AI takes over code generation, developers will need to shift their focus toward applying "editorial judgment"—reviewing, curating, and directing AI-generated code rather than writing it from scratch.
