Mojo 1.0 Released: The Systems Language for the AI Era

Modular has officially announced Mojo 1.0, marking a huge milestone as the language reaches stability and its first epoch of feature maturity.
Since open-sourcing the standard library, nearly 200 contributors have landed changes across 200k+ lines of code. Positioned as the systems language for the AI era, Mojo introduces several core features:
- Unified Hardware Support: Write code for diverse hardware—from data centers to the edge, CPUs to NPUs—without vendor lock-in.
- Performance Meets Productivity: Offers readable syntax and memory safety alongside systems-level control and powerful compile-time metaprogramming.
- Native GPU Programming: Write GPU kernels in the same language as CPUs without needing CUDA or a separate DSL, with the ability to drop down to low-level PTX assembly if necessary.
- Python Interop: Import and accelerate existing Python libraries seamlessly.
