Study: Public Claude Code sessions leak 62 API keys, 33 passwords

A preliminary scan of 7,000 public traces found that shared Claude Code/Codex sessions, even with encrypted reasoning blobs, can be decoded to leak personal data. The scan uncovered 62 unique API keys, 33 email addresses, 33 passwords, and other sensitive data.
