Samsung's HBM4 Yield Hits 80%; SK Hynix May Sell Chongqing Plant

Samsung Electronics' HBM4 memory yield surged from under 60% to nearly 80% within six months, exceeding expectations. The company plans to triple HBM4 revenue in Q3 and aims to capture 38% of the overall HBM market by year-end.
Meanwhile, SK Hynix is reportedly considering selling its Chongqing plant in China, valued at $3 billion, to enhance its packaging competitiveness. Sony and TSMC also plan a $6.4 billion joint venture in Japan to mass-produce next-gen image sensors by 2029.
In China, autonomous vehicle maker Ninebot is establishing a manufacturing base in Haikou, and Qingdao has announced a 500 million RMB solid-state hydrogen storage project.
