AI-Generated 3D Worlds Show Early Promise, Could Approach GTA-Scale Ambition
Scobleizer · x · 2026-08-10
Robert Scoble highlighted the potential of AI-generated 3D playable spaces. He noted that while current AI-generated 3D maps still look rough, they show the early signal that the world is becoming "buildable."
As models iterate, AI will move beyond generating isolated assets to assembling actual playable spaces. Within a few model generations, it could build entire open worlds approaching GTA-scale ambition. Furthermore, he emphasized that experiencing these 3D simulators in a headset will be vastly superior to a phone screen, likening it to a real-life Holodeck.
