AI Sextortion: One Photo Used to Fake Explicit Images for Extortion

The US Secret Service disclosed a case where a predator needed just one photo of a 16-year-old girl’s face to quickly generate fake explicit images using AI, followed by a countdown clock and demands for money.
The report highlights that AI changes the landscape of sextortion. Criminals can now manufacture the material used for coercion from scratch, meaning victims do not even need to have created or shared intimate images to be threatened.
