Figma Library Insertions Dropped 95%: Team Automates Maintenance with LLM and MCP
Vjeux · x · 2026-08-09
Astryx reported a 95% drop in weekly insertion rates for their Figma library, noting that most designers shifted towards designing directly with code. However, they still find Figma valuable for rapid exploration and sketching.
To solve the high maintenance overhead of design libraries, they introduced the Astryx Figma Library. It is fully built and maintained by an LLM integrated with the Figma MCP. A cron job named "Night Watch" acts as a "Figma Librarian."
The agent monitors every dot release of the system and automatically synchronizes the library based on predefined build preferences (e.g., always using a slot feature to reflect a React node), achieving fully automated design asset management.
