AI-Assisted Rewrite of Genomics Algorithm Achieves 60x Speedup

A researcher announced that, with the assistance of AI coding tools, they successfully rewrote and optimized LDetect, a classic algorithm tool used to divide the genome into approximately independent linkage disequilibrium blocks.
The optimized version (LDetect-lite) runs approximately 60 times faster than the original, significantly boosting the efficiency of genomic data analysis. The project is open-source on GitHub.
