Stop Micromanaging Opus 5: Anthropic Engineer Advocates Goal-Oriented Prompting

Developer Matt Shumer argues that Claude Opus 5 is highly underestimated, but requires a paradigm shift in usage: delete all preset skills/MCPs/Claude.md scaffolding and stop dictating specific execution steps.
Another developer echoed this, citing Anthropic engineer Felix Rieseberg's earlier observation: as models grow more capable, overly prescriptive scaffolding becomes a liability. Instead of micromanaging the model like telling it to 'take a train to California,' simply provide your starting point and the end goal, letting the model leverage its own intelligence to figure out the optimal path.
