Altman: Massive inference demand will finance OpenAI's frontier model training

Sam Altman stated that OpenAI will not need to be a gigantically high-margin business to afford frontier model training. He explained that the massive usage of their models will generate enormous inference demand. By selling inference compute to customers at a modest margin, the revenue will be sufficient to finance their future compute plans and model training.
