HKU's Hengshuang Zhao Named MIT TR35 China for Work in Embodied AI and 3D Vision

Professor Hengshuang Zhao from HKU’s School of Computing and Data Science has been selected for MIT Technology Review’s "35 Innovators Under 35 China" list.

As a frontier pioneer in Physical Intelligence, Zhao has established a general framework spanning 2D to 3D, perception to understanding, and virtual environments to physical reality, laying the technical groundwork for visual, spatial, and embodied intelligence. His notable achievements include PSPNet, a foundational semantic segmentation framework cited over 20,000 times, and the Point Transformer series, which has the potential to reshape 3D backbones.
