Ben Goertzel: Scaling components requires fiddling; blind combination is intractable

Ben Goertzel notes that between a component working in a small test and working at scale lies a lot of fiddling with algorithms, representations, and interfaces. Trying that blindly for dozens of components at once results in an intractable global optimization problem.
