Ditch the Terminal: Community Launches Open-Source Grok Build Desktop App
PawelHuryn · x · 2026-08-08
Developer Pawel Huryn introduced Grok Build Desktop, a free, open-source community Electron app that runs the Grok Build coding agent on macOS and Windows.
Key Features:
- No IDE Required: Users can run the coding agent without opening VS Code or a terminal. The UI features projects on the left, conversation in the middle, and files on the right.
- Remote Control: It can connect to AFK Pilot, allowing users to monitor and steer the agent remotely via phone or browser.
- Security Note: Current builds are not code-signed, so users must manually bypass OS warnings on the first launch.
