Chrome Proposes WebMCP Standard to Natively Support AI Agents on Web Pages

The Chrome team has proposed WebMCP, a browser standard designed to let websites expose structured tools directly to AI agents. By providing JavaScript APIs and annotating HTML form elements, agents can accurately understand page features and interact without blindly scraping the DOM.
