Claude Code Adds Multi-Session Messaging for Cross-Machine Agent Collaboration
EricBuess · x · 2026-08-07
Anthropic released a new SendMessage tool for Claude Code, allowing different Claude Code sessions to message each other directly, even across different machines.
This feature is highly useful for organizing ad-hoc teams, communicating task dependencies, and self-organizing around deliverables. Users can update Claude Code to the latest version and instruct Claude to message another session by name (after renaming it via the /rename! command).
