Vinod Khosla Rebuffs NYT: DeepMind Has Deep Talent Bench, AI Race is Far From Over

Investor Vinod Khosla pushed back against a NYT narrative regarding talent loss at Google DeepMind. He argued that the AI industry landscape shifts rapidly, noting that six months ago OpenAI was perceived as lagging behind Anthropic, only to pull ahead later.

Khosla emphasized that Google DeepMind still possesses one of the deepest talent benches in the industry, and it is far from "game over," calling the NYT reporting naive.

Commenting on this, Matt Slotnick added that the fact Google has been losing key talent for three straight years tells more about the immense depth of their talent pool than any actual decline.
