Samuel Colvin, creator of Pydantic, shared his thoughts on AI coding assistants. He stated that he couldn't stand opencode, and while he uses both Codex and Claude Code (cc), he ultimately prefers Claude Code because the models work better for his use cases.

The user he replied to echoed the sentiment, complaining that OpenAI's tool harness is so bad they choose to leave gifted free tokens and credits on the table rather than force themselves to use it.
