AMD ROCm Open-Sources Spur: A Rust-Based, AI-Native GPU Scheduler

The AMD ROCm team has open-sourced Spur on GitHub, an AI-native job scheduler written in Rust. Designed for modern multi-thousand GPU clusters, the project also plans to ramp up support for very large CPU fleets soon.
Key Highlights:
- Slurm Compatible: Serves as a drop-in replacement for Slurm's CLI, REST API, and C FFI, allowing existing scripts and muscle memory to work unchanged.
- GPU-First Scheduling: Provides first-class GPU support tailored for AI workloads.
- Modern Infrastructure: Features Raft-based state management and built-in WireGuard mesh networking. It can also control k0s, enabling workloads to use Kubernetes or Spur on a unified management plane.
