Cloudflare Launches Kitesurf: A Browser for AI Agents Saving Up to 7x Memory

Cloudflare introduced Kitesurf, a browser built from scratch specifically for AI agents, now in free public beta. It runs on Cloudflare's Workers architecture, stripping out unnecessary Chromium features for agents.
Core Advantages: Saves up to 7x memory and 3.8x CPU during HTML extraction, and 4.7x memory and 3.1x CPU during screenshots. This allows developers to run multiple times more agents at the same cost.
Architecture & Compatibility: Completely stateless and highly isolated. It supports the standard CDP protocol, meaning existing automation tools like Puppeteer, Playwright, and MCP can switch over by just changing a URL parameter.
Limitations: Single tasks are 1.7-1.8x slower than pooled Chromium. It currently cannot play videos, render 3D, pass CAPTCHAs, or maintain long logged-in sessions.
