AMD Acquires AI Chip Startup Taalas to Boost Decode Acceleration

AMD has acquired AI chip startup Taalas, co-founded by former Tenstorrent CEO Ljubisa Bajic.
Taalas has demonstrated superlative inference speed on small models. AMD will likely leverage this technology specifically for decode acceleration, enhancing its AI hardware capabilities for inference workloads.
