Developer Unveils 'Fusion' Architecture: 2.6B Model Rivals 35B Performance

A developer has released a sub-6B sparse activation AI model built using a brand new 'fusion' architecture. The model fuses weights from Liquid AI's LFM2.5-2.6B and Alibaba's Qwen3.6-35B-A3B.
According to the creator, this fused model is only about a fifth of the size of the original Qwen model but is capable of achieving near-equivalent performance. Two additional models (26B and 12B) based on this architecture are reportedly in the works.
