Google DeepMind has seen significant leadership changes, leaving Koray Kavukcuoglu as the sole remaining co-lead of the Gemini project.
Jeff Dean and Oriol Vinyals have left to launch Discovery Loop, while Noam Shazeer joined OpenAI in June. Demis Hassabis has also stepped down as CEO to become Chief Scientist. Koray Kavukcuoglu is now the lone holdover, promoted to SVP of Google DeepMind and Google’s Chief AI Architect.
