Beckmann Transport Models: A New Framework for One-Step Generative AI
shangbinfeng · x · 2026-08-06
Researchers introduced Beckmann Transport Models (BTMs), a novel theoretical framework for generative models under the manifold hypothesis. BTMs unify autonomous flows and one-step generators, featuring two complementary instantiations:
- One-step transport map: Learned directly without jointly learning a velocity field.
- Time-independent flow: Trajectories halt upon first hitting the data manifold.
The team released the paper and a tutorial. This is a joint work with Eric Vanden-Eijnden and others.
