Core Google AI figures including Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le have co-founded Discovery Loop, aiming to automate the scientific experimental loop using frontier AI and massive-scale compute. The company announced a seed round co-led by Radical Ventures.

Core Vision:

Automating the Scientific Method: Systems will rapidly propose, run, and learn from evaluations, executing thousands of experiments in parallel to drastically compress iteration time.
Starting with ML: Initial focus will be on automating ML research and engineering, acting as its own first customer to optimize its tech stack.
Ultimate Goal: Tackling National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges, such as engineering better medicines and making solar energy economical.
