Jeff Dean Leaves Google to Found AI for Science Public Benefit Corp Discovery Loop

Google legend Jeff Dean has officially announced his departure after a 27-year career. He is co-founding an independent public benefit corporation named Discovery Loop with longtime collaborators Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le.
According to an official letter, the new company's mission is to automate machine learning, science, and engineering to accelerate discoveries and progress. Jeff Dean stated that they aim to apply their past experience driving technology transitions—from early search infrastructure to the modern AI era—to new scientific endeavors.
