Anthropic Confirms Custom AI Chip Development with Samsung
zephyr_z9 · x · 2026-08-05
Anthropic has confirmed it is building an in-house team to design custom AI processors specifically for Claude, aiming to boost speed, efficiency, and scalability.
This move aligns with a broader industry trend of AI labs moving down the stack into hardware. It follows earlier reports of talks with Samsung as a potential manufacturing partner. While developing its own silicon, Anthropic will continue a multi-chip strategy, relying on compute from AWS, Google, Nvidia, and AMD.
