NVIDIA is moving into a CPU domain long owned by Intel and AMD, claiming its Arm-based CPU performs routine storage system tasks up to 3.67x faster than traditional x86 chips.

Integrated into the BlueField-4 STX Storage Processor, the chip handles encryption, checksumming, and compression before data hits the drive. With the explosion of agentic AI workloads—where a single agent step can trigger massive amounts of storage operations—this efficient data preprocessing has become critical.
