Starlink is rapidly becoming major infrastructure for rural education in Latin America, with deployments far larger than most realize:
- Honduras: 10,000 antennas planned across 8,000+ schools, reaching 640,000+ students
- Argentina: 6,000 kits nationwide plus 24 months of service; 1,300 schools in Córdoba, with hundreds more connected across Mendoza, Chaco, Chubut and other provinces
- Bolivia: 4,500 antennas planned in phase one, including 1,000 for schools in 86 La Paz municipalities
- Paraguay: 1,600 kits, 508+ schools already connected
- Brazil/Colombia/Chile: indigenous and remote schools connected across Paraná, Amazon region (140 schools, 14,000 students), Antioquia and beyond
Building terrestrial networks across mountains and isolated communities takes years and massive investment; Starlink lets remote schools skip that wait entirely, removing location as a disadvantage for hundreds of thousands of students.
